CONCERT REVIEW: Breaking Benjamin

Headliner: Breaking Benjamin

Other Acts: Young Guns

Date: May 13th, 2015

City: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Venue: Stage AE – Outdoors

Breaking Benjamin is back after a long hiatus. Breaking Benjamin was one of my favorite bands as a kid (well, even more of a kid than I still am), and I am thrilled that I finally had the chance to see them after waiting many years for my chance. They brought along Young Guns from the UK as support.

The wait was worth it. They opened their set with “So Cold” and continued to play their hits for about 2 hours. They even threw in a few surprise covers as well, such as Metallica. They then added a covers medley consisting of the Star Wars Imperial March, Schism by Tool, Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana, and Walk by Pantera, and they nailed every single one as if it was their own song. They even played their new song “Failure.”

After a 4-5 year hiatus I’m glad to say that this band still sounds the same as they did before. The music was great and Ben sounds excellent. If you have the chance to see these guys, don’t pass it up.
